Add to Your Teething Toolbox: Baltic Amber Beads From Baltic Wonder! A Guest Post From BalticWonder.com!

This week, I am pleased to host guest blogger Jen Sanders of BalticWonder.com. This week’s post topic concerns a certain ‘rite of passage’ experienced by both babies and, indirectly, their caregivers: Teething!

Teething is tough, and not just on us mamas! When caring for a teething baby, seeking safe, effective relief for a suffering little one is typically at the forefront of a parent’s mind. Your heart breaks at baby’s cries. Frequently, both you and baby sleep much less. Ultimately, both you and baby need some help!

In today’s post, Jen will be discussing numerous ways to aid in coping with the teething process, for babies as well as their parents. One such coping aid discussed here is the use of Baltic Amber teething necklaces, currently available for purchase at BalticWonder.com! Continue reading

Summer in Review #2: Mother Daughter NYC Weekend: The Classic East Festival! A Trifecta of Summer Highlights: Part 2 of 3

Goodbye, Lazy Days

Hmm… she kinda does look like me. My ‘teacher look,’ immortalized in clipart. chrystalizabeth / Pixabay

This week marks week three of the 2017-2018 school year. So much for my proclamation that I would have all three of my Summer in Review posts up my first week back to work.

Yeah, right. I can’t even get three posts up in one week during summer break! Props for me for thinking that I could, however.

So, how’s ‘back to work’ going?

Pretty decently thus far! But I will miss summer 2017, as it was truly a wonderful time. Continue reading

Summer in Review #1: Dual Birthday Party Day Success! A Trifecta of Summer Highlights: Part 1 of 3

Oh Summer, How I Will Miss Thee…

This week, the lazy days of my treasured summer vacation came to a close. The first ‘official’ day of school looms ahead next Wednesday for S11, and …for me.

Boo! Hissss…

BUT…

Soon enough, the math teaching madness begins. Numbers!! Holla!!

On the bright side, I’ve had an absolutely amazing summer! And though I’m sad to see it end, all good things… seem to do that. Such is life, amirite?

So today, on this pre-Labor Day Friday, the official last Friday of summer break here in NY (for 3 out of 4 of us here, anyway), I have decided to post an extended recap of my top three favorite summer moments for your reading pleasure. To avoid a ridiculously long, rambling post, however, said recap will consist of three separate posts, starting with this one. Continue reading

Week in Review: September 2-September 9: The First Week of School! It's The First Week of School! It's The First Week of School!

Yes, the first week of school has cometh. Joy for many parents across the land, I’m sure…..unless those parents are teachers like I am.

Haha J/K

Oh, Alice, I’m sure if I was a rock and roll star, I’d be smiling while sending my kids back to school this week too.

I love my job. I really can’t complain. It’s not an easy job, and I’ve been moved around more these last few years than many teachers are in their entire career, but at least the powers-that-be always have kept my strengths in mind when moving me. Continue reading

All-Star Cheerleading vs. Rec: A Guest Post by My Daughter Not All Cheerleaders Cheer For Boys!

Today’s post was written by my 10-year-old daughter (whom I refer to as S10). In the post below, S10 explains how all-star cheerleading and recreational cheerleading programs differ. Helping others understand the differences between all-star cheer and recreational cheer is very important to S10. When S10 tells people that she is a level 2 all-star cheerleader, they often assume that she cheers for sports teams. Wrong! Read on as my eldest throws down some knowledge in her quest to educate others about what all-star cheerleading really entails. I can tell you this: all-star cheerleading is certainly not the same cheerleading that I remember from back in my younger days. I hope you enjoy her post!  Continue reading
